THE ROOTS OF GOOD EARTH PEANUTS

Rooted in the farmland of southeastern Virginia, Good Earth Peanuts carries forward a tradition  shaped by generations of family farming, craftsmanship, and southern hospitality. Farmers in  southeastern Virginia have worked the land in the region since the early 1700s, and peanuts became a staple crop in Virginia during the 1800s.

Farmers in  southeastern Virginia have worked the land in the region since the early 1700s, and peanuts became a staple crop in Virginia during the 1800s.

A DREAM TAKES SHAPE

The company’s beginnings in 1989 were humble and hands-on. Peanuts were cooked at night  on the family kitchen stove after full days spent working other jobs, then packaged and sold to friends, neighbors, and local customers. That same spirit of patience, hard work, and personal  connection continues to define the company today.

In 1991, Good Earth Peanuts moved into its current home in Skippers, Virginia, a historic  building with roots tracing back to the 1830s. Once a general store and longtime home of the  Skippers Post Office, the building has remained closely tied to the community for generations
